OUR PROCESS

  • PHASE ZERO // FEASIBILITY STUDY

We understand that every project begins with a clear understanding of the site and its potential. That's why we offer a comprehensive feasibility study as part of our Phase Zero design process. By conducting a thorough analysis of your site, we can ensure that every aspect of your project is considered and incorporated into the final design.

Our feasibility study includes a wide range of services designed to gather all the information needed for the best design approach. These services include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Design controls and covenants

    • Boundary setbacks and easements

    • Building envelope and height restrictions

    • Topography

    • Sun studies

    • Site location for a northern aspect design and sun study

    • Site services

    • Collaboration with geotechnical engineers

    • All relevant council regulations and rules

By conducting a thorough feasibility study, we can identify any potential issues or challenges that may arise during the design and construction process and work to mitigate them early on.

  • PHASE ONE // CONCEPT DESIGN

Our concept design phase is where we bring your vision to life.

We take inspiration from a range of architectural styles, including mid-century design, to create unique and timeless spaces that are tailored to your needs.

We work closely with you to understand your desired outcome and budget, ensuring we avoid the common "design before budget" trap.

Our team creates initial drawings, floor plans, and perspective sketches that offer a first glimpse into the potential of your space.

Using state-of-the-art technology, including computer renderings and 3D printed physical models, we present a range of design solutions to the brief.

This phase sets the foundation for the rest of the project, with the concept design serving as the master plan for the entire project.

  • PHASE TWO // DEVELOPED DESIGN

We develop and finesse your Concept Design, nailing down all the important decisions.

The solutions to potentially complex construction problems are worked through in terms of how the concept design will be constructed.

From here, the plans can be used for costings by third-party professionals such as quantity surveyors, builders, Contractors and for financing and valuation needs.

It's important to avoid the potential trap of getting too far into the design documentation before getting preliminary costings done, which can be devastating to a project and cause financial blowouts.

  • PHASE THREE / WORKING DRAWINGS

At this stage, we take your developed design and create high-quality construction detailing that meets all the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code and your local council authority. We work closely with engineers and other third-party services to produce comprehensive working drawings and documentation.

We manage the entire submission process on your behalf, saving you time and money. Submitting plans to the council can be a complex and time-consuming process, but we have the expertise to navigate it seamlessly.

This ensures that your project complies with all relevant regulations and requirements, giving you peace of mind that your project is in safe hands.
